About Charles Owen
For 40 years, Charles Owen has been Northern Virginia’s premier design/build landscape contractor, with a reputation for creating outstanding outdoor living spaces in high-end residential and commercial arenas. Owen directs a staff of landscape architects, graphic designers, construction management and horticultural specialists, along with stonemasons, planting crews, outdoor lighting and grading experts.
Raised in Paris and Madrid, Owen’s designs are notable for European styling and the subtle interface of rustic elements and sophisticated technology and splendor. His custom fire and water features, luxurious pools and spas have earned awards. He is often called in to assist in both the siting of a project and its final stages, bringing “human scale” to the design.
Owen has designed more than 3,000 gardens in the DC area, the Caribbean and Europe. His clients include members of Congress, national banking and industry leaders and commercial developers. Owen has received numerous industry awards and was named 2015 Hall of Fame Landscape Architect by Home & Design. However, he says, “the greatest reward is the support of clients and their recommendations.”
